Fields: Add/Edit 360 Source

Path: Federated Configuration > Add Source > 360

Add/Edit 360 Source lets you add or edit the settings for a 360 search source. You can add or change the connection settings for a 360 search source, or specify whether patrons will have to login with a username and password in order to view search results from this search source.

Name

Specifies the system name of the 360 search source (up to 80 characters). This system name is used to identify the search source on the Federated Search Sources page and on any other pages in the Admin console that display the search source name.

For this field, you can also specify an alternate name for a specific language. The name that you specify will appear when the Admin console is displayed in that language. Choose the language from the drop-down list of supported languages, then enter the localized name in the field.

Note: If your web browser is configured to use a display language that is not supported by Portfolio and you have chosen to display the Admin console in a language other than the default language (en_US), the language that displays in the drop-down list of supported languages defaults to US English.

If a localized name already exists for a specific language, the software displays that language name differently in the drop-down list. When you enter a localized name for a specific language, the language name appears with a “++” suffix. If you clear the localized name for a specific language, the software displays the language name without this formatting.

Description

Specifies a text description of this 360 search source (up to 80 characters). This description is displayed on the Federated Search Sources page.

Host

Specifies the host name of the 360 server to connect to the search source.

Port

EZproxy URL

Specifies the URL that is prepended to the URL. When you do a 360 search and the search results are sent from the 360 search source, they must go through a proxy server in order to display links in the search results that link to details for a particular item. The URL must begin with “http://” or “https://.”

Authenticated

Specifies whether users need to be logged into Portfolio in order to see search results from this search source. (For example, if a library has a subscription with a particular search source or provider, they may want to require that patrons log into Portfolio in order to see search results from this particular search source.).

Note: The search results from this search source will only appear if the user has already logged into Portfolio. All other non-authenticated search results will be displayed.

Note: If you enable the “Authenticated” option, users are required to enter a username and password to access the search source and perform a search. Therefore, you must also provide the username and password to access the 360 search source.

Specifies the username necessary to access this 360 search source server and perform a search.

Note: This field is required if the “Authenticated” checkbox is marked.

Password

Specifies the password necessary to access this 360 search source server and perform a search.
